Gun, drugs and cash seized from New Castle home

A two-month New Castle Police investigation ends in the arrest of an area-man suspected of drugs and weapons offenses.

32-year-old Erick Moon, of the unit block of Buttonwood Avenue, allegedly had a handgun, heroin, marijuana, 600 unused small stamped baggies and nine-hundred-eighty dollars in cash in his home.

New Castle Police - assisted by the DEA and a K-9 unit - reportedly seized all of it while executing a search warrant Friday.

Police say two teens living with Moon, but who are not related to him, were removed from the house and given into the custody of a relative.

Moon is reportedly charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana with an Aggravating Factor.

He is released on $7,000 unsecured bond.
