Carper introduced the Labeling Education and Nutrition, or LEAN Act, a bill that would require restaurants and grocery stores that serve prepared foods at 20 or more locations to provide nutritional information for each menu item.

Carper says it's important to give people the information they need to fight a growing epidemic across the country and here at home.

Carper says uniform rules are needed, calling healthy nutrition and obesity national concerns that cry for national attention.
