Richard Cordrey's office issued a statement Monday saying an anonymous tip from the state Auditor's office led Cordrey to order seperate audits, one to be conducted by a state agency other than the Division of Revenue and another by a national accounting firm.

No one in the Finance Department has been fired or suspended, but officials think some Finance Department workers submitted fake refund claims worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Refund claim payments have been suspended, an investigation into any possible criminal activity in the program is underway, and the state Auditor's office is sharing information about the program with State Police.
