UD prof: Haiti quake recovery may take decades A University of Delaware professor who's an expert in disaster recovery efforts says Haiti will take years, and possibly decades, to recover from Tuesday's earthquake. Doctor Joe Trainor says the French-speaking Caribbean island country doesn't have the kind of infrastructure we have in the US. Trainor says even in a best-case scenario, Haiti can't make earthquake repairs as quickly as more highly-developed countries. The State Department's set up a toll-free number people can call to find out about loved ones in Haiti--1-888-407-4747. |
