DE gets piece of PCH settlement
By Frank Gerace

Delaware, 31 other states and the District of Columbia are getting checks from Publishers Clearing House.

The sweepstakes company's agreed to pay a total of 3 and a half million dollars, of which Delaware gets 40 thousand, to cover the cost of an investigation into deceptive trade practices, including mailing promotional materials to elderly and low-income people that led recipients to believe buying magazine subscriptions from PCH would increase the odds of the customer's winning the company's multi-million dollar sweepstakes.

Attorney General Beau Biden's office Thursday announced the settlement, which modifies the terms of a 9-year-old agreement with Publishers Clearing House.
