The Public Policy Polling survey shows John Carney leading Republican Fred Cullis, a Hockessin businessman, 47 to 24 percent, and a better-known, but as-yet undeclared GOP candidate, former state Senator Charlie Copeland, by a 44 to 32 percent margin.

Among independents, Carney leads Cullis 36 to 20 percent, and Copeland 35 to 26 percent.

All 3 men are relatively unknown to those surveyed--54 percent say they have no opinion of Carney, 66 percent say they're "ambivalent" toward Copeland, and 87 percent say they have no opinion of Cullis.

PPP surveyed 571 Delaware voters November 30th to December 2nd, and the poll has a margin of error of about 4 percent.
