Winter Storm Watch issued for Delaware
By Peter MacArthur

The National Weather Service has issued a statewide winter storm watch for Delaware because of a storm system that could bring six to 12 inches of snow to the state.

The watch is in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. Forecasters early Thursday also warned that snow totals could be even higher in the Delmarva region.

The forecast may impact outdoor events, including the annual Polar Bear Plunge in Lewes. A safety team is scheduled to meet today to talk about whether to hold the event on Sunday.

The National Weather Service is also forecasting strong winds on Saturday that could cause blowing and drifting of snow.
