Wind power is coming to UD
By Jim Hilgen Share

The University of Delaware is getting ready to install a wind turbine at its Lewes campus.

Officials from the university and wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa will complete the agreement on Monday.

A single 2 megawatt turbine will be installed at UD's Hugh Sharp Campus in Lewes.

The school expects the turbine to be operational by next spring.

It is anticipated that the campus will have all of its electricity provided by wind power when the installation is complete.
