Mrs. Obama, Mrs. Biden urge public to thank vets
Michelle Obama and Jill Biden want Americans to thank a veteran.
They are appearing in a public service announcement promoting the "Thank a Veteran at
Work" campaign. Launched by the cable network History in 2008, the program encourages
people to take time around Veterans Day next month to find the veterans at their places
of employment and thank them for their service.
Both Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden are advocates for service members and their families.
Mrs. Biden is also a "Blue Star" mom; her son, Beau Biden, is a member of the Army
National Guard and has served in Iraq.
Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Biden taped the announcement Wednesday at the White House.
