Unemployment benefits extended

If you're unemployed and worried your benefit payments may run out soon, you're in luck, thanks to a bill signed into law earlier this month by President Obama.

State Division of Unemployment Insurance director Tom McPherson says the Worker, Homeowner and Business Assistance Act makes up to 14 extra weeks of benefits available to Delawareans who are out of work.Audio Here

McPherson says those who may qualify for the additional payments will be mailed information and instructions, and if you think you're qualified and don't get anything in the mail, you can call your nearest Unemployment Insurance office.
