VP speaks at fundraiser for Coons
By Associated Press Bookmark and Share

Vice President Biden is lending his support to a Democrat running for his old U.S. Senate seat.

Biden on Monday spoke at a fundraiser for New Castle County Executive Chris Coons. The vice president spoke mostly about the economy to a group of about 150 people but said it was good to be campaigning for a someone he would be "proud to call Senator."

Coons will face the winner of the Republican primary between longtime Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Castle and Christine O'Donnell.

Editor's Note: WDEL's request to cover the fundraiser to provide you with video, audio and pictures of the event was denied by The White House.
