Civic leaders get to be "Principal for a Day"
By Jim Hilgen

Elected officials and business leaders get a chance to experience education from an administrator's point of view.

All this week Delaware schools will have a new body sitting in the principal's office.

The "Principal for a Day" program brings the business, political and educational worlds together so the parties can exchange information and ideas.

Delaware attorney general Beau Biden, Senator Tom Carper, and Katie Wilkinson of Wilmington Trust will be among the 150 government and business leaders taking part in the program.

The guest principal will take part in the daily school routine, from bus duty, spending some time in a classroom to visiting the cafeteria during lunch.
