Bear resident is "Next Great Baker"

A Bear resident is the big winner on The Learning Channel's baking reality show, "Cake Boss:Next Great Baker"

Dana Herbert, head chef at the DRBA and owner of the New Castle pastry shop Desserts By Dana, beat out 9 other contestants over 8 weeks to win $50,000, a new Chevy Cruze and a year-long apprenticeship to Buddy Valastro, owner of Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey and host of the show.
Herbert is a graduate of Dickinson High School and the University of Delaware, and says he learned to bake from his grandmother.
Herbert and his wife are expecting their first child, a daughter, next month.
