WDEL's LeAnne Matlach reports.

The Atlantic Klipper is bringing not only produce to Wilmington but jobs.

Ever wonder where your produce comes from? Well some of the fruit we eat will now come from the Atlantic Klipper by way of Chile unloading at the Port of Wilmington.

John Coulahan with Murphy Marine Services says the Klipper’s trip from Chile to Wilmington takes about 12 days and carries thousands of pounds of fruit.

"The ship can hold about 5,300 pallets, which is on average about 53,000 cases below deck and then another 4,000 pallets above deck," Coulahan said.
