DPH confirms 4 more drug-resistant flu cases
By Frank Gerace

The state Division of Public Health says it's confirmed four more cases of flu resistant to commonly-used treatment drugs.

DPH says one victim, a 45-year-old Sussex County woman, died in February, and the others, a 28-year-old New Castle County man and a 2-month-old boy and 7-month-old girl from Sussex County, were hospitalized briefly or didn't need hospitalization.

These cases bring the number of flu cases in Delaware resistant to Tamiflu and other widely-used drugs to 10.

DPH is working with the CDC to determine whether revised treatment guidelines will be needed for next year's flu season.
