Aerospace Foundation gets $50K for geothermal

The Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation in Smyrna is getting a generous federal and state grant to go green.

The $50,000 will go toward geothermal heating and cooling system at the AeroSpace Education Foundation.

Stephanie Wright is their President.

"We focus on three things here: education, the environment and strengthening the workforce," says Wright.

The geothermal system can be used as a teaching tool too.

"We have children from Sussex, Kent, and New castle, and they come daily, and they stay for a two-hour experiences, and we focus on earth and space science," says Wright.

And Senator Tom Carper says it's important to get them interested when they're young.

"We want to get kids interested in aerospace, in our environment, interested in science. We don't want to wait till they're like seniors in high school. We want to make sure it happens even before they go to school," says Sen. Carper.
