DEMA is telling Delawareans not be worried if they hear the warning sirens for the Salem Hope Creek nuclear power plant on Tuesday.

The sirens are being tested from 10a.m. to 5p.m. on Tuesday so there is no need to worry if you hear them.

The quarterly siren test includes a 3 to 5 minute sounding of the 37 sirens which will then be followed by a test message of the emergency alert system. The sirens are located within a 10 mile radius of the New Jersey plant.

If an actual emergency were to occur sirens would alert the public to tune to one of the EAS stations for instructions.
