Early morning crash kills 17 year old Newark girl

A single car crash early Tuesday killed a 17 year old Newark girl.
Police say she was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty at about 1 a.m.and lost control at Old
Cooches Bridge Road and Old Baltimore Pike.
By the time authorities arrived, the Jppe was off the roadway and in flames. The
driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A follow up investigation reveals the victim was wearing a seat belt but was driving
over the speed limit when the crash happened.
Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.
