Wilmington teacher cuffed for cocaine

A Wilmington elementary school teacher is under arrest, charged with trafficking cocaine after an undercover bust in the city.

33 year old Wayne Richard of the 700 block of East 28th Street was confronted by officers outside the Shop Rite Store on South Market Street. A search of his car uncovered a diet Coke can with a removable top, and inside, were ten grams of cocaine packaged for sale.

Also found during a follow up search of Richard's home was a handgun.

Richard told police he worked at Harlen Elementary school as a teacher and behavioral interventionist. He's behind bars in lieu of 19 thousand dollars bail.
