Craft distillery bill released from state Senate committee
By Frank Gerace

A bill sponsored by state Senate President Pro Tem Tony DeLuca would take craft distilleries out of the brew pub in Delaware.

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday voted to send the measure to the full Senate, which is expected to vote on it next week.

Dogfish Head Brewery owner Sam Calagione says the bill would not only eliminate the requirement that craft distilleries operate in brew pubs, it would permit on-site tastings like those held at breweries and wineries, which could make the distilleries tourist attractions.
