Oakmont community relieved by environmental changes

A local company makes some major environmental changes to improve the quality of life for the Oakmont community.

Joan Knotts of Oakmont went to sleep to, or at least tried to sleep, every night, to the loud continuous hum of a diesel generator.

Now when she sleeps, she hears crickets.

That's because Trinity Port Services has installed 20 electrified outlets that power refrigerated banana trucks in silence. They replace the use of diesel generators, reducing both air pollutants and all that ruckus.

Knotts and her neighbors now rest better at night...

"Knowing that the noise is going to be forever gone," says Knotts.
