Odessa Fire Chief Scott Brown tells WDEL News the alarm went out around 7:12, and when crews arrived on-scene in the 900 block of Bayview Road, they learned the victim was trapped inside.
Firefighters were able to rescue one of the victim's dogs, but couldn't get to the victim or another dog, partly due to debris and clutter in the house.
The fire was under control in about an hour and 15 minutes.
Firefighters from Middletown, Newark, Port Penn and Townsend helped battle the blaze.
The state Fire Marshal's office is investigating what caused it.
