A man is in serious condition after being thrown from his pick-up truck in a crash early Friday morning in Claymont.

County paramedics say it happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Philadelphia Pike south of Naamans Road. Paramedics found that the truck had hit a guard rail and overturned.

The 28-year-old man driving the truck was thrown about 100 feet. He was treated for head and possible internal injuries and flown by state police helicopter to Christiana Hospital.
