It might not have been the Tour de France, but the Wilmington Grand Prix challenged cyclists with sharp turns, tight corners and steep hills on Saturday afternoon.

The 35 lap race took place on a mile figure-eight loop that started near the Grand on North Market Street.

Race director Randy Inglis says the course is difficult to endure-- even for the most experienced cyclists.

Aleman beat Australian cyclist Hilton Clarke and Canadian rider Ben Chaddock, who finished in second and third respectively.
