Biden among 22 AG's calling for closure of Higher Ed Act loophole
|
| State Attorney General Beau Biden (D) | Attorney General Biden and 21 other AG's want Congress to close a loophole in the Higher Education Act.
Biden and his colleagues Tuesday sent a letter to Congressional leaders saying GI Bill and Veterans' Assistance educational benefits should be subject to the so-called 90/10 Rule, which prohibits for-profit colleges from getting more than 90 percent of their funding from federal Title IV sources.
The Attorneys General claim a loophole allows the schools to get the remaining 10 percent of their income from Veterans' Affairs and Department of Defense programs.
