Blue Rocks Send Pitching Duo to All-Star Game

Wilmington starting pitchers Sugar Ray Marimon and Yordano Ventura were named to the 2012 Carolina League All-Star roster.

Marimon boasts a 4-1 record this season with a 2.05 ERA in 13 games and 8 starts. He has 61.1 innings under his belt and has allowed just 42 hits and 16 walks while recording 54 strikeouts.

Ventura has been said to have the best fastball in the Kansas City farm system which tops out at 100 MPH. He has a 3-5 record with a 3.21 ERA in 12 starts and is second in the league in strikeouts with 70.

The All-Star game will be held June 19th at Winston-Salem, N.C.
