Chalk circles on the sidewalk mark the latest deadly shooting in Wilmington. WDEL's Mellany Armstrong reports police are calling one a home invasion.

Police say 24-year-old Monique Boyce was killed inside her home at 827 N. Madison Street early Wednesday morning as she shielded her baby with her body. Her 25-year-old boyfriend fled the home after being shot, and reported it to a nearby police officer. He's in stable condition

Valerie Mitchell lives a few doors down from the murder scene and says Boyce worked at the nearby McDonald's.

The baby and another child in the home were not hurt. Shortly after 1 a.m., police also found 26-year-old William Pennewell of New Castle shot in a car on the sidewalk at 9th and Grant Avenue. He died later at the hospital. Police are trying to determine whether these shootings are related.

Police are also investigating the shooting death of 16-year-old Anthony Newman of Wilmington Tuesday afternoon at 10th and Pine.
