Kraft Foods seeks to expand, add jobs in KentCo
By Amy Cherry

The company that makes some of your old time favorites like JELL-O and Crystal Light is looking to expand in Delaware.

Kraft Foods wants to add 29 jobs at its manufacturing facility in Dover. They're asking for a $456,000 grant from the Delaware Economic Development Office's Strategic Fund to assist with their $10 million expansion.

Nikki Lavoie, DEDO's Communications Manager, tells WDEL this facility is Kent County's largest manufacturing firm, and will have a significant impact on the area.

"They had an expansion a few years ago during the Minner Administration and they expanded and invested some money to modernize the facility at that time. So this is the second time they've expanded in several years," says Lavoie.

Their request goes up for review and approval June 25 by DEDO's voluntary Council on Development Finance.
