Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County unveiled its new recycling center Tuesday in New Castle.
The center will take items that are left unsold at Goodwill stores throughout the state and recycle them.
Since January, the center has cut the amount of goods that end up in landfills by nearly a third.
CEO Colleen Morrone says it is all part of an effort to go green.
"Our goal is to have a zero footprint in the environment through the recycling that Goodwill does on all the items that are donated from the community."

The center also doubles as an outlet store that is open seven days a week.
Shoppers can come to the center and buy items before they are recycled, says Morrone.
"Items come out on these big tables, and you can go through them. It's kind of a hunt for the treasure that you might be able to find. Then we sell it by the pound. The more pounds you buy, the less the amount per pound is."

The recycling center has already created 20 new jobs for local residents, and as the amount of items they recycle goes up, they are looking to hire even more people.
