| VIDEO: Don Voltz speaks with Eric Patton | St. Elizabeth linebacker Eric Patton will get a taste of his college career when he suits up for the Blue in the 57th annual Blue/Gold All-Star Football Game Saturday night.
The 2-time Delaware Defensive Player of the Year has signed on to play for KC Keeler and the Blue Hens beginning this fall.
While Patton would seem to be an easy pick for a game featuring the finest athletes in Delaware, the senior says he took nothing for granted.
"Not a lot of people get selected for this game, some people get turned down. No matter how good you are, if you don't have the right attitude and skills, you don't make it."

Eric says the best part of the Blue/Gold experience has been the buddy he's been teamed up with as part of the Hand-In-Hand program connected with event beneficiary DFRC.
"When we did bowling, it was really cool to take part of my time to give to him because not a lot of people give time to those with special needs."

As for the game Saturday, hard hits usually aren't part of the recipe in all-star contests, but Patton says he makes no promises.
"I try to bring everything I got to every game, so we'll see."
