Ruiz still third in All-Star balloting
By Sean Greene

Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz remained third among NL catchers in Major League Baseball's 3rd release of All-Star Game balloting Tuesday.

The man known affectionately as "Chooch" has 1.7 million votes, placing him behind San Francisco's Buster Posey (2.4 million) and St. Louis' Yadier Molina (2.3 million).

Ruiz, who has been batting cleanup for the first time in his career this season, is hitting .354 with 8 home runs and 34 RBI. His average places him 4th in the NL, and his power numbers stack up well with Posey (8/35) and Molina (9/37).

Two other Phillies are in the top 5 with Jimmy Rollins 4th at shortstop behind St. Louis' Rafael Furcal, while Placido Polanco is 5th at third base.
