Pitchers Marimon, Ventura Solid in All-Star Game Win
Blue Rocks all-stars Sugar Ray Marimon and Yordano Ventura each pitched an inning to help lead the Carolina League all-stars to a 9-1 win Tuesday night in Winston-Salem.
The right-handed Marimon started the 4th inning during a 1-1 tie with the California League all stars and recorded 2 strikeouts without surrendering a run.
Ventura shut out the opposition in the 5th inning and struck out one batter while surrendering a walk.
The California League all-stars jumped on the scoreboard in the top of the 1st inning scoring their only run of the game.
The Carolina all-stars recorded 10 hits and were 4 for 11 with runners in scoring position.
