Rocks shut out Lynchburg 3-0

| VIDEO: Highlights of Rocks/Hillcats | Blue Rocks pitchers Chase Boruff and Edwin Carl combined on a 3-hit shutout as Wilmington defeated Lynchburg 3-0.
The game was scoreless at the bottom of the 6th when Cheslor Cuthbert put the Rocks on the board with an RBI single.
At the bottom of the 7th, the Rocks added to their 1-0 lead with a 2-run single by Luis Piterson, which turned out to be the final runs of the game.
Carl (1-0) earned the win for the Rocks, striking out 8 giving up 2 hits in the last 5 innings. Dimasther Delgado (5-3) pitched 6.2 innings for Lynchburg, striking out 4 and giving up the 3 runs in a losing effort.
Boruff made his third professional start, allowing 2 hits in his four innings of work, coming up 3 outs short of qualifying for a victory.
The Blue Rocks continue this series Saturday at 7:05.
