Delaware Park cancels Saturday race card

Delaware Park will again be idle on Saturday because of the oppressive heat forecast for that day.
Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission Chief Veterinarian Dr. John Peters says the conditions forecast, with a high temperatures above 100 degrees, would pose a substantial health risk to horses, jockeys and participants.
The races scheduled for Saturday, including the Par Four Overnight Stakes, will be brought back as extra races and redrawn next week.
Racing is expected to resume July 9th.
