Axe wins Sports Medicine award

Dr. Michael Axe of First State Orthopaedics has won the Robert E. Leach Mr. Sports Medicine award from the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
In addition to his medical practice and duties, Axe assists on WDEL's high school football and basketball broadcasts, not only with medical information but also game analysis.
The award is given to those who have made a significant contribution to the world of sports medicine.
Dr. Axe is the Director for the All Sports Clinic of Delaware at First State Orthopaedics and also is active at the University of Delaware, where he is a clinical professor and medical director for the University's Sports Physical Therapy Residence Program.
