New Castle woman charged with falsely reporting kidnapping
A New Castle woman and her boyfriend are charged in connection with a kidnapping that never happened.
County Police say Alejandra Munoz and her boyfriend, Narcizo Bedolla, got into an argument in the Chelsea Estates parkland Thursday night, and Bedolla took off on foot.
Munoz, worried that Bedolla would steal her SUV and leave her stranded there with 2 children she was baby sitting, called 9-1-1 and claimed her boyfriend hit her truck with a metal pole and drove off in an SUV with 2 children inside that Munoz had been babysitting .
When officers arrived, Munoz told them she wasn't the woman who called, but did see an argument involving a Hispanic couple.
Investigators later learned that Munoz did make the call, that Munoz gave them a false name, and that Bedolla gave them a bogus cell phone number for Munoz.
Munoz was charged with falsely reporting an incident and released on bail, and Bedolla, who was on probation, is being held at the Howard Young Prison on charges of violating probation and hindering prosecution.
