New Castle home break-in leads to drug bust
By Michelle Provencher

A home intruder found himself bound by phone cord and threatened with a machete when the homeowner gained control of the situation.

25-year-old Darrell Robinson, armed with a handgun, knocked at the door of his neighbor in the Farrand Village Apartment Complex before letting himself in.

New Castle County police arrived on scene and found Robinson on the kitchen floor with his pants down, his ankles tied with a phone cord and a pot of boiling water on the stove meant to be poured on him.

The homeowner, 36-year-old Trimell Heyward, is a known drug-dealer. Police found more than 200 grams of marijuana, 37 grams of crack and hundreds of prescription pills in Heyward's possession.

Both men were arrested without incident and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute.
