Man talks to fellow customers at liquor store; they rob him
By Frank Gerace

When you were little, your mother warned you about talking to strangers--a Wilmington man may wish he'd followed that advice after he was robbed by two fellow customers at a Newark-area liquor store.

State Police say the victim, a 47-year-old who uses a walker, struck up a conversation with the suspects inside Lamppost Liquors on Route 273 around 10 Thursday night, and when he and the suspects left, one suspect hit him in the head, knocking him to the pavement in the parking lot.

The robbers then grabbed the victim's backpack, which had his money inside, and drove off on Route 273 westbound in a white sports car.

Police say the suspects are white, one 20 to 25 years old with blonde hair and wearing a green shirt, and the other 40 to 45 with brown hair.

Anyone with information can call Troop 2 or Crimestoppers.
