Unemployment rises in Delaware

Delaware unemployment reaches 6.8% in July, falling below the national rate of 8.2%.

The state's Department of Labor data marks a slight increase from 6.7% in June and a decrease from 7.4% a year ago.

In Wilmington, unemployment continues to soar, reaching 10.6% last month.

In this past month government hiring picked up in local governments while retail jobs throughout the state reported decreases.
