Delaware's Indian-American community will celebrate their heritage and their country's 65th anniversary of independence this weekend.

Dr. Juhi Jagiasi is the organizer of the First State's first-ever India Independence Day parade and cultural festival.

"A lot of colorful costumes - all of the performers are going to be in the parade, so we're very excited about it, and we want everyone to come out there, and experience this new culture and have fun!"

The parade kicks off at 11am sharp Saturday at the Hockessin Fire Hall and will end at the Hindu Temple of Delaware.

After the parade, you're encouraged to stick around for the cultural festival, which will include the hoisting of the Indian flag and the singing of their National Anthem.
