After falling through the early part of the summer, gas prices are now higher than at the same time last year.

Triple A Mid Atlantic reports the price at the pump rose two cents last week to a statewide average of $3.72 for a gallon of unladed regular.

Spokesperson Jana Tidwell calls the outlook grim, as prices are expected to continue the upward trend through Labor Day.

She says some analysts are predicting gas prices will reach four dollars a gallon before pulling back in the fall.
