Body found in Newark area Tuesday morning

Delaware State Police say the body of a woman was found on the side of the 100 block of Stanton Christiana Road shortly before 8am this (Tuesday) morning.

Police say some construction workers found the body as they were walking through a field adjacent to the roadway. Reports indicate the body is that of a woman between her late 50's and early 70's. It appears to have been there for an extended period of time.

Detectives think they may know who the subject is but need more investigation to confirm their suspicions.
