|Highlights from UD's 26-3 loss to Maine|
It was a day the Delaware football team would like to forget. Hoping to rebound from last weeks miserable second half performance against New Hampshire, the Blue Hens managed to play an entire game that was ugly.
The Maine defense sacked Delaware quarterback Trent Hurley 9 times, tying a school record and the Blue Hen offense struggled the entire game, in a 26-3 loss to the Black Bears.
Delawares offense mustered just 224 total yards and never found the end zone as they lost their second straight game.
Maine quarterback Marcus Wasilewski tossed three touchdown passes on 12 of 18 passing for 176 yards.
Delaware lost an opportunity to get back back into the game late in the third quarter when they fumbled with the ball at the one yard line of Maine, trailing 23-3.
The final indignity occured when Hurley, leaping over a defender at the Maine 6 yard line, lost the ball, and it was run back by Maine 64 yards to the Delaware 30 with just under 4 minutes to play.
Delaware drops to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the CAA. They have next Saturday off before hosting Rhode Island on October 20th for Homecoming.
