Wesley remains No. 6 in Division III
By Sean Greene

Wesley's fourth victory of the season kept the Wolverines ranked 6th in this week's D3football.com Top 25 Poll.

Justin Sottilare threw for 2 touchdowns in Wesley's 26-17 victory over previously 15th-ranked Birmingham-Southern. The Panthers dropped one spot in this week's poll after the first meeting between the South Region schools.

The top 5 in the poll remained unchanged this week, with Mount Union, Mary Hardin-Baylor, Linfield, St. Thomas, and Wisconsin-Whitewater comprising the 5 teams ahead of the Wolverines. UMU has 23 of the 25 first place votes with UMHB claiming the other two.

Wesley has just one Division III opponent remaining, when they travel to face No. 23 Huntingdon on October 27. Before that, they will host 1-4 Virginia University of Lynchburg at Miller Stadium Saturday at 1pm, and then travel to California to battle Menlo College.

Three of Wesley's opponents made the poll, with UMHB coming in second, Salisbury in 7th, and Louisiana College finishing in 21st place this week. Menlo was ranked 22nd in NAIA before falling to former-Wesley opponent Webber International 19-14. The latest NAIA poll comes out later Monday.
