Camden-Wyoming man charged in police standoff
A Camden-Wyoming man is facing several charges after barricading himself in his home last week, leading to a standoff with police.
State Police say John Deane was taken into custody Monday after being released from a hospital where he was treated for self-inflicted wounds sustained during last Wednesday's incident. He is charged with reckless endangering, terrorist threatening, assault and other offenses.
Troopers went to Deane's home in response to a reported domestic assault. Authorities say Deane had assaulted his girlfriend and threatened to kill her. The woman escaped from the home and when troopers arrived, Deane allegedly shot a pellet gun in their direction.
Deane remained barricaded inside the house for more than eight hours before police forced their way in and took him into custody.
