VIDEO: Highlights of Padua vs. Ursuline plus Jennifer Borio on the win

Padua's aggressive offense proved too much for Ursuline's stout defense in a 3 sets to 1 victory in a Catholic Conference volleyball matchup Tuesday night.

Sarah Cushing's ace on the opening point set the tone for the Pandas, who improved to 9-0. Ursuline would force three ties but never lead in the opening set, with Padua's 5 point run to make it 20-12 being the difference in a 25-19 win.

Ursuline quickly turned this around in the second, as Padua's combination of hitting and serving errors, along with the Raiders' defense which featured 99 digs on the night evened the match with a 25-16 win.

It appeared that Padua was taking control of the match, when a 6-kill streak including two by Erika Engler put the Pandas up by 10. Ursuline would rally, ultimately making it 22-20 before a pair of kills by Allyson Jennings and Engler preceded a Raider error to give the Pandas a 25-20 win.

Ursuline took a 19-15 lead in the fourth set on Stephanie Drake's kill, but the Pandas would surrender just two more points, with Jennifer Borio's 15th and final kill of the night coming on match point.

Jennings recorded 10 kills for the Pandas, who will face St. Mark's Thursday night in a showdown of two of the top teams in Delaware.

Caroline Francois led Ursuline with 11 kills, 12 assists, 7 digs, and 4 aces. Taylor Hollingsworth had 45 of the 99 digs for the Raiders.
