State Rep. Brad Bennett
State Rep. Brad Bennett is serving a 60-day sentence in jail for driving drunk in Wilmington earlier this year.

Bennett plead guilty in the NCCo Court of Common Pleas Thursday to driving under the influence.

The Dover Democrat began serving his sentence last week at Howard Young prison. Bennett has also lost his license for two years and must pay a $750 fine and complete a substance abuse treatment program.

Bennett was arrested for his second DUI on April 15 in Wilmington after he sideswiped a parked police cruiser and drove away, a story you heard first on WDEL.

Bennett's first DUI arrest was in Lewes in 2010.
