By Tom Lehman 12:43am, October 13, 2012 - Updated 1:10am, October 13, 2012Running back Andre Connally and wide receiver Tyree Short scored two touchdowns in support of Appoquinimink's 28-7 victory over Glasgow Friday night.
The Jaguars took the lead on the first drive of the game on Connally's 2-yard touchdown run for the early 7-0 advantage.
That score held through most of the second half with both teams turning the ball over on consecutive drives. One Dragons drive was cut short by a fumble recovered by Appo, who gave it right back a couple of minutes later on redzone on another fumble. Although Glasgow would fumble on the ensuing drive, they were able to recover the ball but still could not put any points on the board.
The Jaguars were able to pick up some points just before the end of the half--Malachi Esdale ended up throwing a 36-yard TD pass to Tyree Short on a WR reverse--pat no good--to give Appo a 13-0 lead before the end of the half.
With his team already up 15-0 on a safety, Connally got his second touchdown in the 3rd Quarter on a 42-yard touchdown run to put Appo up by 22-0.
The Dragons were still looking for their first touchdown in the 4th Quarter when Stephen Kowalski scored on a QB sneak to get Glasgow on the board with under 6 minutes left in regulation.
However they couldn't recover an onside kick picked up by the Jaguars, who would score another touchdown on the ensuing drive to cap off the 28-7 win.
