Dog shot after attack
By Frank Gerace

State Police say an attack on several people by two dogs in Stanton Friday afternoon ended when a trooper shot one of the dogs.

Police say the dogs were attacking a mailman and some nearby residents who were trying to help him at Route 4 and Argonne Avenue around 4:15.

Then, the dogs then went after a smaller dog and that dog's owner.

The attack stopped when the trooper shot and wounded one of the attacking dogs.

The mailman was taken to Christiana Hospital to be treated for several dog bites, and the attacking dogs were taken to the Kent County SPCA to be seen by a vet.
