By Peter MacArthur 11:20am, October 31, 2012 - Updated 4:54pm, October 31, 2012Roughly 1,700 Delmarva Power customers in New Castle County remain without power.
Delmarva Power President Gary Stockbridge tells Delaware's Morning News that as they began to assess the damage Tuesday, when 45,000 customers were in the dark, they were able to make major progress with repairs.
"Yesterday was a great day, not only for assessment and getting our plans together but, at the same time we had crews out working and getting a lot of work done, we had a lot of crews streaming in from across the country and today's going to be a big day for us, we want to get everything wrapped up."
200 customers in Sussex County without power can expect to get their lights back on by Friday night.
Stockbridge says restorations after Sandy in Delaware have gone so well, that once the work is done here, Delmarva crews in Delaware are likely to head to harder hit areas to help with utility repairs.
